Let me describe my husband, the King, to you:
+ Laid back
+ Chill
+ Shorts and a grubby tee
+ Hard working
+ Out doorsy
+ The most lovable man ever
So, naturally, I thought I was going to have to put up a fight to get him to go with me to see Million Dollar Quartet last night. See, the thing is, my new co-worker has season passes (is that what they are called in fancy theater lingo?) for the Bob Carr and couldn't make it to last night's show, so she gave the tickets to the King and I for a date night.
I thought the King would put up quite the struggle when I told the man that I described up there that he was going to have to wear a dress shirt and tie to a fancy theater event.
Remember that last trait of his, being the most lovable man ever, well that was the trait that assisted in surprising me when he said, "sure."
So, we went, we saw, we were fancy AND we conquered.
The show was amazing! It was a show that commemorated the one day jam session that Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins in Sun Records, where they all started. The music was awesome and the energy was high. They ended the show with a series of musical numbers WHILE wearing sparkly suit jackets. AWESOME.
Needless to say, the King and I are rarely ever doing anything fancy, but we love it when we do.
I'm really looking forward to having a chill weekend at home though. It's only my second full weekend since I left Universal and I really want to cherish it by running all the mundane wife errands, like grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning. You know, the boring stuff.
Also, this little lady turned the big 1 yesterday!
Happy Birthday Mia.... I mean "little worm."
How fun! Ammon and I have season tickets to the Dinner Theater. I had always assumed that he would think it was silly, but he usually enjoys it more than I do! It's fun to have an excuse for a fancy dress-up date every few months when a new show starts.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday little Mia!
