...The Haps...

Blake and Annalee Russ got married on Friday. It was crazy!All of my friends in Tallahassee are getting married to and its just crazy to think that all of us are at that age where being a husband and wife is normal. Blake and Annalee looked insanely happy and I am so proud of them. Ben went with me to the wedding, and he was such a good sport! He just had shoulder surgery the week before and was in a sling. Ben's surgery went well and the recovery was good, but it was pretty hard taking care of him. He likes to be independent and I love to take care of people so we actually kind of bickered back and forth about that. He was a good sport though and now he's going to start physical therapy for the next 6 weeks. By the way, that boy makes me insanely happy. I'll be starting school August 30th and my orientation isn't until August 17th so I hope I get good classes. I'm going to have to start taking them at night, so that will be a weird adjustment for me. I always took my classes at FSU so I would be done by 2 pm. So thats the haps in my life for right now...

Also, yesterday I was watching tv and this girl got yellow flowers randomly. I love yellow flowers and I was actually jealous of the girl! It was pretty ridiculous, but then I realized I've only gotten them twice. Thats one thing I'll always share with my grandmother-- we both love yellow roses.

Most importantly, its only 3 months until Halloween and for some reason I'm already getting stoked! I love Love LOVE Halloween and I don't know why but I a really excited. So excited that I've even thought of mine and Ben's costumes, Margot and Richie Tenenbaum, from one of my favorite movies, The Royal Tenenbaums. I realized that since we're older there probably won't be a reason to dress up, but I'm going to have a party. I'm so excited! I can not wait until October... I'm celebrating all month long!

....Mahogany Violet Brown...

I've wanted to dye my hair a deeper shade of brown and I've really always wanted to have a peek-a-boo streak of purple on the underside of my hair. Nothing too big, just a tiny strand. Well my friend Courtnie Morris decided that she would help me do it for free and since she is a licensed Cosmetologist I agreed. We went to the beauty store and looked at several books that had different swatches in them and I picked one that I thought was the right color for me and Courtnie was excited about it because she loved that line of color. In hindsight I think it was the lighting in the store and the shinny-ness of the swatch that I can blame. We got to her apratment and she mixed my hair dye, that came out a purpleish color, but I didn't question it, and then she bleached my one strip so we could dye that one violet. As Courtnie washed my hair, I noticed that the water was purple and I thought to myself, I really hope it is the chemical reaction thats purple and not my hair. I was wrong. My hair turned out purple. Courtnie and her friends kept saying that they liked it, but you know when you expect one thing and its not what you wanted its really hard to be ok with the outcome, well that is what I was experiencing. I definitely didn't want anything that wasn't natural. I loved my violet streak in the back, but I didn't want my entire head to match it. Courtnie then said, "The color said, Mahogany Violet Brown Kaylee, didn't you see it?" Nope, I hadn't even bothered to read that. So for the next week I had purple hair. I've washed it tons and tons with shampoo and conditioner that had sulfer and now its to a more natural color. Hopefully I learned my lesson with dying my hair-- I should be happy with what I already have.

The top picture is from this last weekend when Ben and I went over to our friend, Sam Ahola's, house. Sam is from Finland and he lives right next to the temple in a giant house on the lake. He has jet skis and we went on them. Ben took the picture of us as I was driving the jet ski about 60 mph. You can totally see my purple hair too. Sam is the bottom picture on the jet ski! It was awesome, but the most awesome part was getting to ride in the elevator in Sam's house. Cool huh?

Here are the pictures from when I busted my chin. They aren't really gruesome or anything, but they are pretty gnarly! Enjoy! Oh and the stupid uploader uploaded them all backwards so the first one is when we finally super glued it and the bottom ones are from then Ben so diligently butterfly bandaged it all together...

Morgan Coles had a friend coming into town this weekend from Utah and he's thinking about moving down here so she wanted him to make friends with some of us kids in the Singles Ward... so we got the whole dang group of us together; Me, Ben, Alyssa, Jason, Erin... We all drove over to Cocoa beach and it was so flippin packed! Tons and tons and tons of people everywhere! The water felt great, but I think it was because of how hot it was outside... There was a hot wind and my feet burned on the ground... Ben and Jason taught me and Alyssa how to throw the frisbee (Lets just say I'm slightly frisbee challenged)... Alyssa got some pictures of everyone so I need to get them from her, but I did manage to get a picture of Ben and I... lets just say I look bad, but you have to admit we're a good looking couple :)
After we went to the beach, I made Ben go with me to Lauren Baas (now Andersen's) wedding reception. Before I left Tallahassee we were friends, but her fiance and I did not get along very well and I got my position as Made of Honor revoked. I wanted to go to their reception at my church building just so I could tell her how proud of her I was and to wish her luck on her new life. That's not how things turned out. When I got there, she avoided me the entire time, which was quite embarrassing because I had Ben with me, so I told him to go grab some food and I went up to Lauren--I told her hi and she looked at me and walked off. Let's just say that Ben got to see me cry for the first time ever and I was only there less than 10 minutes... Then Sunday I got to give a talk on the revelating powers of the Holy Spirit... I think it went well--it was the first time I was over prepared and I was only supposed to speak for 10 - 12 minutes and I went to like 15 and that was after I cut a ton of it out! I'm really excited for this Fourth of July weekend because the group is going to Coral Springs for a long weekend and we're going snorkling in Key Largo! WHOOP WHOOP! and tonight Courtnie Morris and I are going to see Eclipse at midnight! Dang what a week...

...ShufLow...

Just another day at ShufLow... I got a run to Daytona Beach that took most of my day... got to love when that happens! $54 worth of milage and not in the office... ahhh got to love my job!

...DISNEY!...

Last Friday my mom let me and Ben use her and dad's tickets into Disney afterhours with Amber and her friend Hannah... IT WAS AWESOME! Have any of you ever gotten on Splash Mountain and had them say, "If you want to stay on and go again, go ahead?!" NEVER! That will never ever happen again in my life! Being able to do the entire park in a couple of hours was amazing and I'm glad we got to go... best part was getting Amber to go on Thunder Mountain and she loved it! Her face was priceless! This is the only picture I got and it was while we waited on Amber... just remember that we look awesome for 2:30 am...

...Bad Guy...

This week I had to be the bad guy to someone I care about. I know I hurt them a lot. I know I did the right thing by them, and now I have to trust that the Lord will take care of the rest. This was not something that I enjoyed nor looked forward to, but I know that by being honest I did do the right thing... hopefully it all works out!
